There are great differences between construction machinery lubricants and passenger car lubricants in terms of operating environment and load changes. Improper use of oil has a great impact on the efficiency and service life of mechanical equipment. When selecting lubricating oil for construction machinery, there may be some misunderstandings, resulting in the selection of inappropriate lubricating oil. This article will summarize the other three common mistakes in the selection and use of lubricating oil for reference only.
1. Completely change the oil according to the oil grade required by the machine
The oil grade specified in the mechanical operation manual is for general working conditions. In the practice of machine oil change and maintenance, we should also consider the actual use conditions. If the actual service conditions are more severe than the specified service conditions, the higher grade oil should be selected through the test, or the oil change cycle should be appropriately shortened.
2. If the lubricating oil turns black, it indicates that the lubricating oil has deteriorated
At present, in order to improve the lubricating performance of lubricants on the market, an appropriate amount of various additives have been added. It is normal for the lubricating oil of internal combustion machinery with detergent dispersant to turn black soon after use, and it cannot be easily replaced as "the oil has deteriorated". Lubricating oil with additives often darkens the bearing surface during use, which is also a normal phenomenon. Therefore, when determining whether the lubricating oil has deteriorated, it cannot be judged by vision alone, but by comprehensive analysis. If conditions permit, the oil shall be tested and tested, and the oil shall be changed according to the quality.
3. The lubrication effect of full hub is better than that of empty hub
In addition to coating the hub bearing with grease, the cavity of the hub is also filled. This greasing method is customarily called "full hub lubrication". Practice has proved that the best way of hub bearing lubrication is empty hub. The so-called "empty hub lubrication" is to coat the hub bearing with grease, while the inner cavity of the hub is only thinly coated with a layer of grease to prevent rust. "Full hub lubrication" not only wastes lubricating grease, but also causes the loss of lubricating grease due to the excessive amount of grease, the increase of internal friction and the increase of bearing temperature rise. In serious cases, the lost grease may penetrate into the braking device, causing braking failure and causing accidents.
