If the tooth surface is not seriously worn, only when there are several slight pitting near the pitch cone, the gear can be used. If the tooth surface is seriously worn or large-area pitting occurs and multiple teeth are broken, replace the new part. Because the engagement performance of spiral bevel gear has a great influence on its performance, it is necessary to replace the main drive bevel gear in pairs.
When some teeth are broken and other teeth are in good condition, single tooth surfacing method can be used to repair them. After surfacing, the tooth shape shall be restored by the method of tooth surface processing and trimming. The broken tooth surfacing can be carried out in two layers. In order to reduce the heat impact during the welding, the gear to be welded can be placed in water to expose the welding site. The exposed parts without welding can be covered with immersion asbestos. After surfacing, the tooth shape can be trimmed with grinding wheel according to the sample plate.
The hardness of the single tooth after repair by this method is low and the wear resistance is poor because of the heat treatment. The maintenance of other gear teeth is the same as the main drive bevel gear and transmission gear.
After the surface of gear and shaft or bearing is worn, it can be repaired by electroplating method. Because of the high precision of such surface, such as differential planetary gear hole, outer diameter of sun wheel and planetary gear hole of wheel side reduction, the general wear amount will not be too large, so the internal and external surface or the shaft or bearing matching with plating can be directly brush plated. Pay attention to the position accuracy and matching precision between each mating surface and gear during repair.
