Daily inspection is the basic guarantee for the safe and efficient operation of the hydraulic excavator and prolonging the service life. It can find and repair all kinds of faults and defects in time, so as to avoid further developing into key faults and causing serious damage to the excavator. Regular construction teams basically have their own equipment management methods, and inspect the specified parts of hydraulic excavators according to certain standards and cycles. The excavator operator is required to master basic theoretical knowledge, understand the use performance of the excavator, and be able to diagnose and eliminate simple faults. For ordinary self-employed households, the daily inspection and maintenance work is of great significance to improve the production efficiency of excavators and reduce the use and maintenance cost. The daily inspection and maintenance items include excavator, engine, main hydraulic components, walking system, left and right side chambers, working device, oil surplus, electric lamp and wiper, etc. The inspection methods are visual inspection and hand touch.
1. Check the undercarriages
First, check whether the appearance of the excavator is different. Then look around the machine undercarriages to see whether there are cracks and whether the slewing ring has grease leakage. Then check the final drive reduction mechanism for oil penetration and the fastening bolts of each undercarriages part. If it is loose, it shall be tightened according to the specified torque and sequence. If it is damaged, it shall be replaced in time. If it is a tire excavator, check whether its tires are intact and whether the air pressure meets the regulations.
2. Check the working device
Check the bucket and bucket teeth, and replace the blunt bucket teeth immediately. According to the relevant data, when the bucket teeth are worn, the bucket cutting resistance will increase by 60% – 80%, which will greatly reduce the loading efficiency of the bucket. Carefully check whether the boom and stick have small cracks, whether the oil cylinder has oil leakage and the state of filling lubricating grease.
3. Check battery electrolytic level and washer
The battery is the power source of the electrical system of the excavator. Check that the remaining electrolyte of the battery is above the minimum level to ensure that the battery can supply power normally. Check the level of washer and wiper, washer reservoir and cleaning water, and add it if necessary. If the wiper blade is worn or streaked, it shall be replaced.
4. Check the air filter element
The air filter element is an important part of the air entering the engine. The filtered clean air enters the cylinder to participate in fuel combustion. The compressed air can be used to clean the dust when checking the air filter element. If the excavator is used in the area with large dust content in the air, the times of checking the air filter element should be increased.
