Many excavator users occasionally see adding oil directly to the diesel engine in their daily operation. The purpose of this is to save costs. However, the mixed use of excavator oil will not only aggravate the deterioration of oil, but also lead to slower excavator action or higher excavator temperature, and aggravate the wear of excavator components. This article will describe five hazards caused by the mixed use of excavator oil.
1. Abnormal smoke from exhaust pipe
After the oil is mixed, the oil is likely to become thinner, which is easy to be brought into the cylinder for combustion, resulting in blue smoke from the engine. After the oil is mixed, it may also make the cylinder seal loose, which is easy to cause black smoke from the engine.
2. Accelerate the formation of oil sludge
The sludge formed in the engine oil will reduce the heat dissipation effect of the lubricating oil, so that the engine is easy to form high temperature, resulting in engine failure. Some oil sludge exists as granular solids, which speeds up the wear of the engine. Some oil sludge will block the filter collector and oil passage, which will easily lead to poor return of lubricating oil, and the engine will not be lubricated, which will cause very serious consequences.
3. Discoloration of piston rod or piston ring
The mixed oil may change its sealing performance, which is easy to cause discoloration or damage to the piston rod or piston ring. If it is used for a long time, the piston rod or piston ring will be seriously worn, affecting the service life of the engine.
4. The piston ring is broken
The viscosity of the mixed oil will change. When the viscosity of the oil increases, the lubrication effect will decrease accordingly, which is likely to lead to the fracture of the piston ring.
5. The piston and cylinder barrel are seriously worn
If the lubricating film of the lubricating oil is damaged, it will cause serious wear of the piston and cylinder barrel. After the oil is mixed, its anti-wear performance may change greatly, which will lead to the extremely unstable lubricating film formed by the lubricating oil, resulting in serious wear of the piston and cylinder barrel.
