The engine oil burning of excavator can be divided into three situations: engine oil burning in cold vehicle, engine oil burning during acceleration and engine oil burning in any case. Among them, oil burning is the most serious in any case, and the engine needs to be repaired, otherwise it is easy to cause accidents.
1. How to judge three situations of engine oil burning
When the excavator is started for the first time in the morning, there will be relatively thick blue smoke discharged from the rear air pipe. After a period of time, the blue smoke disappears, and generally there will be no similar situation on that day. A similar problem occurred when the excavator was started the next day.
It is understood that this is because the valve oil seal is aging and seriously worn, which can not achieve a good sealing effect. When the engine is not running at night, the oil will flow into the cylinder through the valve seal due to gravity.
Once the engine is started, the oil in the cylinder burns under the action of high temperature and high pressure to produce a large amount of blue smoke.
Burning engine oil during acceleration means that a large amount of blue smoke will be discharged from the exhaust pipe when the vehicle is driving, such as slamming on the accelerator or slamming on the accelerator in situ. In severe cases, blue smoke can be seen from the reflector on the side of the exhaust pipe after stepping on the accelerator sharply during driving.
This is because the piston ring on the engine piston is not tightly sealed with the cylinder wall. During rapid acceleration, the oil jumps directly from the crankcase to the cylinder, resulting in oil burning.
Burn engine oil in any case, which is the most serious case of burning engine oil. This situation shows that the engine has been seriously worn and needs to be overhauled, otherwise it will cause serious accidents.
2. How to prevent engine oil burning
1) Avoid rapid acceleration and long-term ultra-high speed operation
When the engine rotates at ultra-high speed, it is easy to break the lubricating oil film, resulting in poor lubrication and dry grinding of rotating parts. When such operation becomes a regular operation, the engine will be abnormally worn and burn oil. Therefore, working in the economic mode of the excavator is one of the best ways to prevent oil burning.
2) Suitable lubricating oil for cold start at low temperature
According to the experience of working in excavators for many years, 70% of the engine wear is caused during start-up, especially the great wear caused by cold start-up, and only 30% of the wear is caused during operation.
Therefore, the protective effect of appropriate lubricating oil on the engine during low temperature cold start is particularly important. Therefore, users are required to use engine oil that meets the technical requirements of the engine.
Many car owners don't read the engine manual. Some car owners don't know the quality and viscosity grade of engine oil they use in their vehicles for several years. They are very arbitrary in using engine oil.
When using engine oil, one is to pay attention to the quality index and the other is to pay attention to the viscosity index. These two indicators must meet the use requirements of the engine.
3) Use the engine according to the engine requirements
Users must use the engine according to the requirements of the engine: for example, the water temperature of the engine is required to be more than 30 degrees to work with load, do not tilt at an excessive angle, use qualified fuel, keep the cooling system clean, etc.
