How to select the breaker matched with the excavator

Hydraulic breaker is a crushing tool that uses hydraulic pump as power and hydraulic oil as working medium to convert hydraulic energy into mechanical impact energy, that is, it uses liquid pressure to drive the piston to do work and output energy to work. It is widely used in quarries, mining, national defense construction, highway and railway construction, municipal engineering, construction and other industries. It is very important to match the corresponding breaking hammer for the excavator. If the excavator is installed with an inappropriate breaker, it will not only cause damage to the breaker, but also cause damage to the excavator. This article will explain which aspects to choose the breaker matched with the excavator for reference only.

1. Select the hydraulic hammer according to the weight of the excavator

If the number in the hydraulic hammer model indicates the weight of the applicable excavator, it can be selected directly according to the weight of the excavator and the hydraulic hammer model.

2. Select hydraulic hammer according to the bucket capacity of excavator

If the number in the hydraulic hammer model indicates the bucket capacity applicable to the excavator, it can be selected directly according to the bucket capacity of the excavator and the hydraulic hammer model.

The relationship between bucket capacity and hammer weight is as follows: Wh = (0.6 ~ 0.8) (W4)+ ρ V)

Wh = W1 + W2 + W3

W1 – weight of hydraulic hammer body

W2 – weight of drill rod

W3 – weight of hydraulic hammer frame

W4 – weight of excavator bucket

3) The hydraulic hammer is indirectly selected according to the model

If the number in the hydraulic hammer model indicates the quality of the hydraulic hammer, or the diameter of the hydraulic hammer drill rod, or the impact energy of the hydraulic hammer, the excavator is generally selected according to the selection guide table provided by the manufacturer or the experience of peers. Hammer weight and drill rod diameter can be directly inspected and measured. The detected data is stable and does not change with the change of conditions and working conditions.

If the number in the hydraulic hammer model represents the impact energy of the hydraulic hammer, it directly indicates the crushing capacity of the hydraulic hammer and indirectly indicates the size of the required bearing machinery. It is worth noting that the detection of impact energy is a very difficult thing, which requires a variety of instruments and equipment. The impact cannot be measured directly, and it is often converted through the measurement of electric quantity. Professionals are required to sample, calibrate and calculate. Different testing methods and equipment are not reliable because of different environmental parameters. Impact energy is also an unstable parameter. The measured results are different with different machining quality and working conditions of hydraulic hammer. Therefore, the user's impact energy figures indicated in the hydraulic hammer sample or manual can only be used as a reference, and there is no reliable test basis.

4) Power matching between hydraulic hammer and excavator

The oil pressure and flow required by the hydraulic hammer shall match the oil supply pressure and flow of the excavator. At present, the flow and pressure of excavator hydraulic pump can meet the needs of hydraulic hammer. If it exceeds too much, it will be harmful to the hydraulic hammer and excavator. It is necessary to adjust the pressure and select the appropriate flow. If the pressure and flow of the hydraulic pump are insufficient, the breaking capacity of the hydraulic hammer is also insufficient, or even can not work at all.
