Improvement of fuel tank base of excavator

Through simulation analysis, it is found that the impact force on the fuel tank base is not evenly distributed on the base, but gradually increases from the middle to both ends of the base. The maximum force is concentrated at both ends of the base. This causes stress concentration in the welds at both ends of the substructure. After the excavator works for a long time, its weld will crack. If the weld cracking of the fuel tank base cannot be found in time at the initial stage, it will cause cracks in the base metal of the fuel tank base plate with the extension of the weld cracking. This causes fuel leakage. It can be seen that the main reason for the fuel tank leakage is the unreasonable design of the fuel tank base structure. The failure was caused by stress concentration at its end.
1. Improve the structure
In order to avoid the cracking of the fuel tank base made in the future, its structure should be improved by reducing the stress concentration. The fuel tank base is improved into a groove structure molded by a mold. In this way, it can be ensured that all sides of the base can be welded to increase the weld length and reduce the stress on the weld. It can also ensure that the stress of each weld is uniform. Thus, the problem of stress concentration in the welds at the end of the substructure can be avoided.
2. Redesign the weld
In order to strengthen the force bearing capacity of the fuel tank base weld, the weld is redesigned according to the size of the fuel tank. Make the welds at both ends of the base and the welds at the side of the fuel tank tank integrated. This can not only effectively eliminate the weld stress concentration, but also make the stress on the base evenly transferred to the side of the fuel tank when the excavator rotates.
