Judgment method of water ingress in excavator engine oil

When the oil enters the water, if it is not treated in time, it will cause serious consequences. For example, the engine crankshaft, connecting rod and other important components are deformed, resulting in engine jitter and more serious engine damage. This article will explain how to judge the water inflow of engine oil for reference only.

1. Observe the appearance of the excavator oil. It is easy to judge whether the oil contains water by color. The oil without water presents a translucent oil bright color, while the oil with water presents an opaque brown or earthy yellow.

2. Check whether the excavator coolant contains oil. If some parts of the engine are damaged, the engine coolant will enter the lubrication system and mix with the oil. Seeping oil can also be found in the coolant of the water tank, which can be easily identified.

3. If water enters the engine oil, it will react with the coolant at high temperature to form emulsion. Check the dipstick and you will find that it is white with foam.

4. When the excavator oil contains a lot of water, the oil level of the oil will rise. At this time, we can simply judge by the level of the oil dipstick.

We can judge whether the engine oil is in water by observing the appearance color of the engine oil, the oil level height of the engine oil and the engine oil coolant. When water enters the engine, do not start the engine again. Professional maintenance workers are required to clean up the ponding inside the engine. Next, check the oil radiator, water plug, cylinder liner sealing ring, cylinder liner and cylinder gasket to determine the cause of oil water inflow.
