Water ingress of engine oil is a common fault in the use of internal combustion engine. If the water in the engine oil is not treated in time, it will cause serious consequences. For example, the engine will be scrapped if there are faults such as cylinder scratch and sliding tile. Therefore, to prevent water from entering the engine oil is a problem that must be paid attention to at all times. Since the water inflow of engine oil is a common fault in the use of internal combustion engine, what are the main reasons for the water inflow of excavator oil? This article will outline this problem for reference only.
1. The oil radiator is damaged, causing the oil to enter the water
If the radiator pipeline is broken, the water outside the radiator will penetrate into the oil radiator, resulting in water inflow of oil.
2. The engine water is blocked and leaked, resulting in water ingress of engine oil
After the engine has been used for several years, due to the corrosion of scale, some water is blocked and rusted, causing the cooling water to enter the oil passage from the water channel and then to the oil pan. This situation is also very common, so check the water blockage frequently.
3. Damage to the cylinder liner sealing ring will cause water to enter the oil
The wet cylinder liner is in direct contact with the cooling water, and the sealing ring at the lower part of the cylinder liner can effectively prevent the leakage of oil and cooling water. In use, the sealing ring bears a certain pressure, and sometimes the poor quality of cooling water causes corrosion. After the engine runs for a long time, the sealing ring is easy to fail. The damage of cylinder liner sealing ring is one of the main causes of oil water inflow. Therefore, when checking the cause of oil water inflow, be sure to check whether the cylinder liner sealing ring is intact.
4. Cracks in the cylinder liner can easily lead to water ingress of engine oil
When the heated cylinder liner is in direct contact with the cooling water, it is easy to produce cracks. Once cracks occur, the cooling water will directly enter the cylinder and enter the oil pan through the cylinder wall, which will make the oil white. The white oil will lead to poor engine combustion, white smoke and other problems. In general, the cylinder liner is not easy to crack, unless there is improper maintenance, such problems will occur. In cold winter, if the cooling water is not filled with antifreeze, it will freeze, which may cause cracks in the cylinder liner. There are also hot cylinder liners that encounter relatively cold cooling water.
5. The cylinder gasket is damaged, resulting in water ingress of oil
The function of engine cylinder gasket is to seal each cylinder and the corresponding water channel and oil channel of each cylinder, so as to avoid water ingress of oil. If the cylinder gasket is damaged and the water circulation speed is fast, the water in the water channel will flow into the engine oil passage, causing the engine oil to enter the water. The damage of cylinder gasket is also one of the important reasons for the water ingress of engine oil. After disassembling the machine every time, try to use a new cylinder gasket to avoid oil leakage caused by cylinder gasket leakage and engine damage.
