Manufacturing technology and replacement cycle of bucket teeth of excavator

The bucket tooth of excavator is an important and consumable part of excavator. It is a combined bucket tooth composed of tooth seat and bucket tooth, which are connected by pin shaft. Bucket teeth can be divided into cast bucket teeth and forged bucket teeth according to the manufacturing process. This article will roughly introduce these two manufacturing processes of bucket teeth.

1. Casting

The casting process of bucket teeth can be divided into sand casting and precision casting.

The cost of sand casting bucket teeth is the lowest, and the process level and quality of bucket teeth are not as good as precision casting and forging. Therefore, the price is the cheapest of all bucket teeth.

The cost of precision casting is moderate, but the requirements for raw materials are very strict, and the process level is also relatively high. The wear resistance and quality of some precision cast bucket teeth even exceed that of forged bucket teeth due to batching. At present, precision casting bucket teeth are the mainstream manufacturing process of bucket teeth in the market. However, if the requirements for the number of bucket teeth are relatively large, the requirements for the cost performance of bucket teeth are very high. Precision cast bucket teeth perform well in terms of price, quality, cost performance and wear resistance.

2. Forging

Forging is the highest of the three processes, and the process level and bucket tooth quality are also the best, so the sales price is also the most expensive, but what can be guaranteed is that the industrial level and quality of bucket teeth forged and cast are the best. If the excavator is used for earthwork, the frequency and demand for replacing bucket teeth every year are relatively small. It is recommended to choose forged bucket teeth. Although the price is much higher, the service life, manufacturing process and quality are the best. Generally, forged bucket teeth are more wear-resistant and harder, and their service life is about twice that of cast bucket teeth.

3. Replacement cycle

The replacement cycle of bucket teeth shall be determined according to the construction environment and wear degree of bucket teeth. For example, if the excavator has been doing earth work, the wear degree of bucket teeth is relatively small. Generally, it is replaced once every 4-5 months.

If it is a rock bucket, the frequency of replacing the bucket teeth is relatively fast, like granite, that is, the bucket teeth have to be replaced in about a week. Of course, this cycle is not fixed. The replacement frequency of bucket teeth should be determined according to the quality of bucket teeth and the degree of care of actual operation.
