The common seal of construction machinery is the seal ring, also known as oil seal. It can isolate the oil and prevent the oil from overflowing or passing through. There are various types of oil cylinders sold on the market. The following types of sealing rings are commonly used for hydraulic oil cylinders: dust ring, piston rod seal ring, buffer seal ring, guide support ring, end cap seal ring and piston seal ring. This article will briefly introduce the guide support ring, end cover seal ring and piston seal ring.
1. Guide support ring
The guide support ring is installed on the end cover of the hydraulic cylinder and the piston to support the piston rod and the piston, guide the piston to move linearly, and prevent metal to metal contact. The materials are plastic and bronze coated with polytetrafluoroethylene.
2. End cover seal ring
The end cover seal ring is used to seal the end cover of the cylinder and the cylinder wall. It is a static seal to prevent hydraulic oil from leaking from the gap between the end cover and the cylinder wall. It is usually composed of nitrile rubber O-ring and support ring (retaining ring).
3. Piston sealing ring
The piston seal ring is used to isolate the two chambers of the hydraulic cylinder and is the main seal in the hydraulic cylinder. It is usually two-piece, the outer ring is made of polytetrafluoroethylene or nylon, and the inner ring is made of nitrile rubber. There are also many variations, including the use of PTFE coated bronze, and so on. Polyurethane u-cup is also used for single acting oil cylinder.
