In the excavation operation, the bucket teeth are the parts with the largest load and are vulnerable parts. Especially in the stonework, the bucket teeth wear very fast. The use of bucket teeth directly affects the working efficiency of excavator. Some incorrect operations will accelerate the wear and fracture of bucket teeth. Today, I share some precautions for you to use the bucket for your reference.
1. Precautions
When lifting the boom, try not to retract the bucket. If the bucket is retracted, the bucket teeth will be subject to upward traction and damage the bucket teeth. When the boom is lowered and the jib is lifted out too hard, the bucket will hit the stone, which is easy to damage the bucket teeth and even the big and small arms.
When digging down, the bucket teeth shall be perpendicular to the working face, or the camber angle shall be less than 120 degrees to avoid breaking the bucket teeth due to excessive inclination angle.
Do not use the side wall collision force of the bucket to move objects or the rotation force to move large objects. When the bucket collides with the rock, the bucket, jib and working device will produce a large load, which will seriously affect the service life of the excavator.
Use the boom or jib to drive the bucket to quickly fall and impact the excavation, especially on the hard rock. The huge impact force will react on the whole working device and pin shaft of the excavator. If it is light, it will cause certain wear. If it is serious, the working arm will crack and break.
Try to avoid direct contact with objects at the back of the bucket, and cooperate with the recovery action of the forearm when excavating hard objects.
During construction, if there are large objects such as earthwork or stonework in front, do not push the stones aside with rotary action. In the long run, the side knife plate, jib and driving teeth of rotary motor will be damaged.
Do not often use the traveling motor to drive the bucket operation. In this way, the bucket and bucket teeth are worn due to the huge external force of the traveling motor.
2. Daily inspection
Check the wear degree of the bucket and whether there are cracks. If the wear is serious, consider reinforcement. If the bucket has cracks, it shall be repaired by welding in time to avoid increasing the length of cracks due to delayed maintenance.
The bucket teeth can be kicked to check whether they are stable. If they are loose, they should be fastened immediately.
