Track Link Wear

Basic Information

Track link wear is one of the most concerning factor that we choose a supplier. As the walking tool for a track excavator, excavator's service life is depended on the links' and link shoes'. No one expects to stop to fix or change the link during the working period. 

There are two major types of excavator, wheeled excavator and track excavators. Track excavator is the common type. No matter what the size of the excavator is, track link is an indispensable part.  

Link derailment happens from time to time for every excavator users. It does bother us when it happens. If we want to make sure that the track excavator walk and work steadily, which means to reduce the times that derailment happens, we are supposed to know the reasons. 

Why Derailment?

1. The factor that excavation machine and its assembly of other parts is one of the reasons. The main components bear a large load when working, so they are prone to wear seriously after long service time.

2. Something wrong with the tensioner cylinder, which causes the track too loose.

3. Improper adjustment of clearance between idler (guide wheel), bracket and antifriction plate.

4. Walking on stones for a long time causes uneven stress, broken track pin, worn chain and chain broken.

5. There are foreign matters between idler (guide wheel) and the track frame, and improper walking operation and uneven stress on the track, resulting in the crack or fracture of the track.
