The end of the fuel tank mounting base of some certain models of excavators suffered from weld cracking. The steel plate at the bottom of the fuel tank is cracked, causing the fuel tank to leak. The welding seam of the fuel tank base cracked, causing the steel plate at the bottom of the fuel tank to crack and leak oil, mainly due to the following two reasons. First, there are welding quality problems in the welds of the fuel tank base, and second, the fuel tank base structure is unreasonable. 1. Repair cracks
First, cut the fuel tank base to find the location where the fuel tank body cracks. First, use a polishing machine to grind out grooves along the cracks. Then fill the groove with a welding machine. Finally, grind the welding seam flat. As the thickness of the fuel tank body plate is 4.5mm, the ground groove is too deep and easy to cut through. The shallow welding is not firm enough, so the grinding depth should be 3mm.
2. Add U-shaped plate
In order to solve the problem of weld stress concentration at the end of fuel tank base, a U-shaped plate is welded at the end of fuel tank base. The U-shaped plate circumference is welded to the fuel tank base plate. The stress on the fuel tank base changes from 2 ends to evenly distributed on the fuel tank base plate. To increase the force area. In order to eliminate the stress concentration caused by welding and arc extinguishing, 5mm shall be reserved at the end of fuel tank base to avoid welding.
