Incorrect starting of excavator engine is likely to cause scrapping failure of excavator engine. The following are ten precautions for starting excavator engine based on years of experience.
1. It is forbidden to start without coolant or adding boiling water
Adding coolant after the engine is started will cause the hot cylinder liner, cylinder head and other important parts to burst or deform due to sudden cooling. Sudden addition of 100 ℃ boiling water to the cold engine block will also crack the cylinder head and engine block. It should be added when the coolant temperature drops to 60 ~ 70 ℃.
2. Do not pull and start
When the engine is pulled down and started under the condition of cold engine oil viscosity, it will aggravate the wear between moving parts and reduce the service life of the locomotive.
3. It is forbidden to change oil and fuel on schedule
In winter, it is difficult to start the engine if the oil and fuel with low viscosity are not replaced in time.
4. It is forbidden to fire at the oil pan and air inlet pipe
In order to prevent fire, use slow fire and coal fire to bake the engine oil pan at a certain distance, and slowly rotate the crankshaft to evenly heat the engine oil and lubricate all parts. If the engine is ignited and started at the intake pipe of the engine, the ash and hard sundries produced by material combustion will be sucked into the cylinder, resulting in lax closing of the intake and exhaust valves and accelerating the wear of the cylinder.
5. It is forbidden to use glow plugs and flame preheaters for a long time
The heating elements of the glow plug and flame preheater are electric heating wires, which consume a lot of power and heat. If used for a long time, the battery can be damaged due to rapid discharge, and the electric heating wires can also be burned out. Therefore, the continuous use time of the glow plug shall not exceed 1min, and the continuous use time of the flame preheater shall be controlled within 20s.
6. It is forbidden to add engine oil directly to the cylinder
Adding the oil into the cylinder can seal, pressurize and increase the temperature, which is convenient for the cold start of the diesel engine, but the oil can not burn completely, which is easy to produce carbon deposition, weaken the elasticity of the piston ring and reduce the sealing performance of the cylinder. In addition, it will also accelerate the wear of cylinder liner, resulting in the reduction of engine power, making it more difficult to start, so the oil cannot be directly added to the cylinder.
7. It is forbidden to pour gasoline directly into the intake pipe
Gasoline has a lower ignition point than diesel and burns before diesel. Therefore, filling gasoline directly into the intake pipe will make the engine work rough and produce a strong cylinder knocking phenomenon. In serious cases, the engine can also reverse.
8. It is forbidden to start continuously for a long time
The starter on the engine works under the condition of low voltage and high current. Long-term use will damage the battery. The continuous working time shall not exceed 10s. If one-time starting fails, it shall be started again every 15s.
9. It is forbidden to run at high speed just after starting
When the engine is just started, the oil temperature is low and the fluidity is poor. If the engine runs at high speed immediately, it is easy to cause rapid wear of moving parts due to lack of lubrication. In serious cases, Bush burning and shaft holding will occur.
10. It is forbidden to stop the engine suddenly when the engine is at full load
