The lubricating oil of construction machinery is greatly different from that of passenger cars in terms of service environment and load changes. Improper oil use has a great impact on the service efficiency and service life of mechanical equipment. When selecting lubricating oil for construction machinery, there may be some misunderstandings, resulting in the selection of inappropriate lubricating oil. This article will summarize three common misunderstandings in the selection and use of lubricating oil for reference only.
1. Add as much lubricating oil as you can
The amount of lubricating oil should be controlled between the upper and lower graduation marks of the oil dipstick. As we all know, a small amount of oil will cause insufficient oil supply, poor lubrication, and mechanical accidents. Therefore, do not add more fuel for fear of insufficient fuel. In fact, too much oil will not only increase the power consumption of the crankshaft due to increased rotational resistance. Moreover, the oil is easy to bubble, emulsify and leak, resulting in poor lubrication.
2. The oil with high viscosity is better for the engine than the oil with low viscosity
If the viscosity grade of lubricating oil is too high, the pumping performance of oil pump will be poor and the flow will be reduced. And make its lubricity, washability and heat dissipation worse. It is easy to cause semi dry friction of the machine parts, causing faults such as Bush burning and shaft holding.
3. High viscosity engine oil can solve the problems of weak engine operation and mixing with engine oil
Weak engine operation, waste of oil and mixing with oil are the external characteristics of the deterioration of engine technology. There is insufficient basis for using high viscosity engine oil to solve the above problems. On the contrary, it will increase the starting resistance of the engine, deteriorate the lubrication performance, and aggravate the friction loss of the parts.
