Unreasonable structure design of excavator fuel tank base causes fuel tank leakage

The fuel tank is fixed on the slewing platform of the excavator through the base. During the slewing of the excavator, the centrifugal force generated by the fuel tank and the fuel and the impact force generated when the fuel inside the fuel tank shakes are concentrated on the base, which makes the weld joint of the fuel tank base bear a large force. Especially when the excavator starts and stops rotating, the impact force on the base weld is greater. Through simulation analysis, it is found that the impact force on the fuel tank base is not evenly distributed on the base, but gradually increases from the middle to both ends of the base. The maximum stress is concentrated at both ends of the base, causing stress concentration in the welds at both ends of the base. After the excavator works for a long time, its weld will crack.
If the weld crack of the fuel tank base cannot be found in time at the initial stage, it will cause cracks in the base metal of the fuel tank base plate with the extension of the weld crack, resulting in fuel leakage. It can be seen that the main reason for the fuel tank leakage is the unreasonable design of the fuel tank base structure, which causes the stress concentration at its end, thus causing the failure.
