Engine oil is one of the commonly used oils in excavators. It can play the role of lubrication, cooling, cleaning and rust prevention. It is very important for the maintenance of excavators. Therefore, the selection of engine oil is very important for excavator. CF-4, CH-4, CI-4, CJ-4 and other engine oils are common in the market. Many people don't understand the difference between them. This article will explain the differences between CF-4, CH-4, CI-4 and CJ-4 oils for reference only.
CF-4, CH-4, CI-4 and CJ-4 are the quality grades of diesel engine oil. For example, CH-4 means that the quality grade is CH, and 4 means four cylinder engine. At present, CF-4 and CH-4 are common.
For high-speed naturally aspirated and turbocharged four cylinder diesel engines produced after 1990, diesel engine oil above CF-4 shall be used. In order to meet the requirements of engine technical improvement and emission regulations, high-speed four cylinder diesel engines after 1998 should use diesel engine oil above CH-4. For the high-speed once stroke naturally aspirated and turbine increased and heavy-duty diesel engines produced after 2002, due to the existence of exhaust gas recirculation device, the requirements of formula regulations and tail gas post-treatment technology, diesel engine oil above CI-4 should be used to replace CH-4, CF-4 and CD series.
Compared with CF-4, the performance of CH-4 is improved in the following aspects.
1. Better anti-wear performance, effectively reduce the wear of piston ring, steel sleeve and driven parts of valve distribution system.
2. Better high temperature resistance, effectively control the formation of deposits, keep the engine clean and run smoothly.
3. Better shear resistance, effectively avoid the decline of oil viscosity and ensure lasting and stable lubrication protection effect.
4. Better soot control ability, especially for EGR engine with exhaust gas recirculation system.
5. Extensive fuel adaptability, especially for the actual situation of generally high sulfur content in China.
CJ-4 level meets the latest EGR requirements on the basis of CH-4 level, and can achieve a longer oil change cycle
1. Better oil stability and oxidation stability.
1) Use a better base oil with excellent oxidation stability and thermal stability.
2) New additive formulation technology, new antioxidant additives.
2. Lower evaporation loss to reduce oil consumption.
3. Use better formula to improve TBN and its retention.
4. Improve the plot dispersion, that is, let the engine oil dissolve more combustion and oxidation products without oil sludge, carbon deposition and paint film.
If the excavator uses direct injection supercharged diesel engine, it is generally available to use CE, CF and CF-4. If the excavator uses EFI, it is best to use diesel engine oil above CH-4.
