What should I do if the coolant temperature of excavator is too high

When the excavator leaves the factory, coolant must be added to the water tank. And the coolant must be changed every 2 years or 4000 hours. However, in the actual work process, the replacement time of coolant may be delayed for reasons such as cost saving, and there may be wrong habits such as adding water. A combination of many factors has caused problems such as high coolant temperature. High coolant temperature is generally caused by water shortage, matching of coolant circulation system or engine with hydraulic pump, poor heat dissipation and other reasons. This article will summarize how to analyze and troubleshoot the causes after the coolant temperature is too high. As excavators of different brands are different, this article is for reference only.

1. Cause analysis

1) The coolant level is too low.

2) Radiator of water tank is damaged or blocked.

3) The water tank hose is flat, blocked or leaking. In the actual process, the inner layer of some water pipes peels, which will hinder the circulation of coolant.

4) The temperature sensor or instrument fails.

5) Thermostat is incorrect, missing or out of order.

6) The water pump or fan drive belt is loose, and the fan blade is deformed and damaged, resulting in poor heat dissipation.

2. Troubleshooting process

1) Check whether the coolant level is within the appropriate range.

2) Check whether the radiator of the water tank is blocked.

3) Check whether the water tank hose is flat, blocked or leaking.

4) Check whether the opening of thermostat is qualified. Check whether the opening of the thermostat is different with water at 80 ℃ and 100 ℃.

5) Check the looseness of the water pump or fan drive belt.
