Why is the crawler excavator weak and slow

In the process of using crawler excavator, some excavator walking faults will be encountered. Most of the reasons for the traveling faults of excavator are related to the traveling motor. This article will describe what causes the failure when the crawler excavator is weak and slow, for reference only.

The two fault phenomena of weak walking and slow speed usually occur at the same time. Because the working site of crawler excavator is uneven ground, after this fault, if there are slightly large stones or steep slopes, the crawler will be stuck and hinder walking. There are several reasons for this failure:

1. The hydraulic pump of excavator is plunger variable displacement pump. After working for a certain period of time, the internal hydraulic components of the pump are excessively worn, resulting in a large number of internal leakage and uncoordinated parameter data, resulting in insufficient flow, high oil temperature, slow speed and unable to provide high pressure, so the action is slow and the excavation is weak. For the fault in this case, the hydraulic pump must be removed and opened for data measurement to confirm the fault location of the excavator. Replace the parts that cannot be used again and repair the parts that can be used again. After reassembling the hydraulic pump, the upper pump valve calibration bench shall be debugged. Match the soft parameters of each system.

2. The excavator also has a multi-channel distribution valve, an important hydraulic component. There are main safety valve, secondary valve, jet valve, oil makeup valve, etc. on the multi-channel distribution valve. If the pressure set by these safety valves does not reach the standard pressure, the excavation will be weak. In addition, if the clearance between the valve rod and the valve hole is too large due to wear and the valve rod return is not complete, a large amount of internal leakage will lead to insufficient flow and slow speed. For the fault in this case, remove the multi-channel distribution valve, send it to the dealer, go to the pump valve calibration bench for commissioning, reset the pressure of all safety valves to the standard pressure, and eliminate the gap between the valve stem and the valve hole.

3. The hydraulic pumps on the excavator are equipped with pilot tooth soft pump, which mainly participates in the variable of the hydraulic pump and acts as pilot oil. Open the valve rod of the multi-channel distribution valve to reverse it. If the wear degree of the gear pump is too high to provide a certain pressure, or the safety valve on the gear pump cannot be set to a certain pressure, the hydraulic pump will always be in a low flow state, and the valve rod cannot be completely reversed, which will lead to insufficient flow and pressure, slow action of the excavator and weak excavation. For the fault in this case, just replace the pilot gear pump or reset the pilot safety valve.
