Excavators may encounter oil leakage from boom cylinders during use. If the hydraulic cylinder leaks oil, the lifting will be slow and the digging force will be insufficient. Generally, the leakage of hydraulic cylinder is divided into internal leakage and external leakage. The cause of external leakage can be determined by careful observation. The following are the causes of external leakage of hydraulic cylinder.
1. Cracking of oil inlet and outlet pipe joint of oil cylinder will lead to leakage of hydraulic cylinder.
2. Oil leakage caused by defects on the cylinder block or cylinder end cover.
3. Oil leakage caused by frequent use beyond the pressure range of oil cylinder.
4. Deterioration of lubricating oil causes abnormal temperature rise of oil cylinder and aging of sealing ring.
5. The piston rod is damaged with grooves and pits.
6. The seal between the piston rod extension end and the piston rod is damaged. Most of them are caused by piston cylinder damage. It is also caused by aging.
7. The seal between the piston rod extension end and the cylinder liner is damaged. This is mostly caused by the aging of the seal after long-term use. It is also because the seal is squeezed and damaged by too much force when the end cap is installed. Also, many manufacturers of hydraulic cylinders adopt unreasonable design to save costs.
