1. Remove the air from the fuel system
There is air in the fuel system, which will cause difficulty in starting or abnormal operation of the diesel engine. After draining the oil-water separator, replacing the fuel filter and cleaning the fuel transfer pump filter, the air in the fuel system must be removed. The steps are as follows:
First, confirm that the water separator drain knob has been tightened. Secondly, loosen the discharge bolt on the fuel secondary filter, unscrew the hand wheel of the manual fuel transfer pump to pump oil until the air in the fuel transfer pipeline is exhausted. Again, tighten the drain bolt on the secondary fuel filter, press the hand wheel of the oil transfer pump and tighten it. Finally, start the diesel engine and run at low speed and no-load to check the fuel system for leakage.
2. Replace the fuel secondary filter
The fuel fine filter shall be replaced every 250h. The replacement method is as follows:
First, remove the cartridge fuel secondary filter with adhesive tape or chain wrench. Secondly, apply a thin layer of clean oil on the sealing gasket of the new fine filter, turn the fine filter by hand until the sealing gasket touches the sealing surface. Again, use the filter wrench, turn about 2 / 3 more turns and tighten, but do not over tighten. Finally, pump oil into the secondary filter through the hand pump to know that the fuel overflows from the discharge bolt, and then tighten the discharge bolt.
3. Clean the oil transfer pump filter
The oil transfer pump filter shall be cleaned every 1000h. The specific methods are as follows:
First, remove the connecting bolt of the inlet hose of the oil transfer pump, and then take out the filter from the connecting bolt with a screwdriver. Secondly, after cleaning the filter with diesel, screw the filter into the connecting bolt again. Finally, tighten the connecting bolts and exhaust the fuel system.
4. Check the fuel hose
Check the fuel hose every 250h. If the fuel hose is twisted, worn or leaked, it shall be adjusted or replaced.
