The inspection and maintenance items of diesel engine cooling system include inspection and adjustment of fan belt tension, replacement of coolant, cleaning of the outside and inside of radiator and oil cooler core, cleaning of filter screen in front of oil cooler and cleaning of air conditioner condenser. When pure coolant is used, it can be replaced every year or 2000h. When the machine is working in dusty areas, shorten the maintenance interval. Do not use tap water or bottled purified water for coolant, let alone impure sewage.
1. Check the cooling water level
The cooling water level shall be checked daily. When the diesel engine is working, the cooling water level must be between the mark of the upper limit position and the lower limit position of the water radiator. If the cooling water level is lower than the mark of the lower limit position, add cooling water to the water tank. During the inspection, it should be noted that the water adding cover cannot be loosened before the system is fully cooled to prevent scalding caused by hot water splashing.
2. Check and adjust the tension of fan tape
The loose fan tape may cause insufficient battery charging, so the tension of the fan tape should be checked and adjusted every 250h and after 50h for the first time for a new machine. However, it should be noted that the tape should not be too tight, otherwise the bearing and tape are easy to be damaged.
Check the tightness of the tape as follows: press the midpoint of the tape between the fan tape wheel and the alternator tape wheel with your thumb. If the tension is not within the range, loosen the adjusting plate and bracket bolts and adjust the tensioning bolts. After the tape interference is within the range, tighten the bracket bolts of the adjustment plate.
3. Clean the water radiator
The method of cleaning the water radiator is as follows:
First, unscrew the water radiator cap, open the drain bolts on the water radiator and diesel engine, and close it after the coolant is drained. Secondly, fill the water radiator with tap water and radiator cleaner, start the diesel engine and run it at a speed slightly higher than the idle speed. When the pointer of the thermometer reaches the green area, continue to run the diesel engine for about 15min. Finally, turn off the diesel engine, open the radiator discharge bolt, and flush the cooling system with tap water until the discharged water is clean.
