When buying excavators, fuel consumption is a big consideration. It is very annoying when the excavator has abnormal oil consumption. Oil consumption is divided into normal consumption and abnormal consumption. This article will give a brief introduction to the normal oil consumption of excavators.
Each excavator has normal consumption. In order to prolong the service life of the machine, reduce the loss of various engine parts and reduce mechanical friction resistance, some engine oil must be consumed for the lubrication of moving parts and parts.
1) If it is a new excavator, the oil consumption will be greater than that of the old one. Because the oil storage grooves machined on the cylinder block surface will store and consume a little oil. With the running in of the machine, the sharp corners of the pattern grooves are gradually smoothed, and the oil consumption will be gradually reduced.
2) The excess oil on the cylinder wall is scraped off by the piston oil ring, and a layer of oil film remains on the cylinder wall. The "pump oil" phenomenon of the piston ring makes part of the engine oil flow into the combustion chamber and be consumed.
3) The engine oil drips and lubricates the valve and valve guide through the engine oil passage through the rocker arm, and the lubricated engine oil flows to the combustion chamber for combustion loss. If the valve and valve guide are not lubricated, they will soon be damaged due to sintering.
4) The exhaust turbocharger seals the lubricating oil by the balance pressure of the intake and exhaust. Therefore, when starting and shutting down the machine, a small amount of engine oil will leak out during long-term low idle operation or high-speed idling.
5) The high-speed rotation of the excavator crankshaft will excite the oil in the oil pan, so that the atomized oil will be discharged from the machine with the exhaust gas, resulting in a small amount of oil consumption.
