There are many factors that determine the fuel consumption of excavators, such as driving habits, working conditions, working mode of equipment, etc. With the continuous increase of oil prices, energy conservation and environmental protection have become increasingly important. How can excavators be fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly and efficient? This article will summarize some two methods to reduce the oil consumption of excavator.
1. avoid long idle
Idle speed refers to the state when the engine is idling. The engine is still running when the excavator is not working. In the daily operation of excavators, the idle time of equipment on many construction sites is as high as 40%-50%. During idling, engine consumes oil but does not work, which is equivalent to increasing daily fuel consumption.
1) Reduce the idle time before shutdown. New engines do not need to idle, and some old engines need to idle for 2 minutes.
2) If you wait for more than 5 minutes during loading or unloading, please shut down the machine and shut down the engine.
3) Before the commencement of each day, the equipment shall be preheated for 3-5 minutes, which shall not be too long.
4) If the engine is equipped with an idle shutdown system, that is, the system will automatically shut down the engine after the idle time set by the operator, please turn on this function.
5) When the operator is out of work, please shut down the engine.
6) Effectively manage construction vehicles and reduce idle speed by improving driving routes.
2. control the loading height
If the excavator operates on a high platform, the height of the platform should preferably be equal to the length of the stick. At this time, the fuel efficiency is the highest. If the height of the platform is not enough, it will not only increase the turning time and fuel consumption, but also make it difficult to fill the bucket.
