What impact will high sulfur content of excavator diesel cause

With the rising fuel price, users pay more and more attention to the fuel consumption of construction machinery. In the daily use of construction machinery, the operator should not only master the appropriate operation methods, but also regularly maintain the electronic control system, hydraulic system, diesel engine fuel system and air intake system, so as to ensure that the diesel engine works in the best state.

Although the maintenance of the machine is important, before the above maintenance, we must also understand the correct management and use of fuel, otherwise the maintenance of diesel engine fuel system will not play a great role.

Due to the heavy workload and environmental problems, most of China's construction machinery will be used under severe working conditions. Most of the engine failures of construction machinery products are due to poor management of oil, water and gas.

Generally, fuel pollution refers to the following situations:

(1) High moisture content.

(2) It contains much sand and dust.

(3) The content of heavy oil is high.

(4) The content of paraffin is high.

(5) High sulfur content.

This article will briefly introduce the impact of high sulfur content in diesel oil.

The sulfur in the fuel will form acid after combustion, which will accelerate the deterioration of the engine oil and corrode the internal surface of the engine body.

Diesel fuel has high sulfur content, which is easy to produce strong acidic substances after combustion, which can lead to and aggravate the corrosion and wear of engine metal parts. For example, it causes gas-phase corrosion to the engine combustion chamber and exhaust system, which is easy to condense into sulfuric acid and adhere to various parts of the cylinder and exhaust system, resulting in strong liquid-phase corrosion to the metal. Moreover, this will also promote the formation of carbon deposition and harden the carbon deposition. These carbon deposits are attached to parts, which will aggravate mechanical wear.

Sulfur trioxide produced during fuel combustion can capture some floating particulate dust. When encountering metal parts with low surface temperature, it will carry the captured dust, adhere to the metal surface together, and continue to adsorb some floating dust, so as to form a sediment layer. Once the deposited layer is formed, the thermal conductivity of the metal will decrease rapidly and the temperature will rise rapidly, resulting in high-temperature corrosion of the metal. Therefore, the content of sulfide in diesel should not be too high.
