Engine oil is very important for the engine. If you want the engine to keep normal, the lubricating effect of engine oil is also a very important part, and any negligence is not allowed. It is often heard that there is an oil shortage alarm after the excavator cylinder returns new oil. This fault condition can easily be misunderstood as engine oil consumption, which leads to a reduction in oil volume and an oil alarm. In fact, this fault is very special, so this article will explain the causes and treatment methods for reference only.
1. Fault phenomenon
According to the oil maintenance cycle, the new oil of the usual brand and model shall be replaced regularly. After the excavator works for a period of time, there is occasional black smoke and the instrument is short of oil alarm mark. After self inspection, the turbocharger was found to have oil leakage.
2. Fault inspection
Due to black smoke and turbocharger oil leakage, disassemble and check the turbocharger decisively. It was found that the carbon deposition inside the turbocharger was very serious, there was oil dirt in the intake chamber of the turbocharger, and it was found that the turbine shaft was broken, the turbine shaft impeller was seriously worn, and the connecting pipe of the wastegate valve was broken. Therefore, it is determined that the turbocharger of the excavator is damaged and cannot be repaired.
3. Fault cause
According to the above inspection, foreign matters in the turbocharger of the excavator entered the turbocharger inlet chamber during operation, resulting in the impeller on the inlet side of the turbocharger unable to rotate. The impeller on one side of the turbocharger exhaust chamber still works normally, which leads to the fracture of the turbocharger impeller shaft and oil leakage.
4. Treatment method
To replace a new turbocharger, it is also necessary to thoroughly clean the oil in the intake pipeline, and for safety reasons, it is also necessary to completely replace the new oil to prevent the turbocharger from being lubricated normally due to excessive viscosity.
Although the probability of this failure is not high, once it occurs, it cannot be disassembled and inspected hastily. If you don't have enough maintenance experience, it's easy to misunderstand the cause of the fault, so the replacement of parts still can't solve the problem. Moreover, judging the fault cause only through a certain fault phenomenon will not only judge the deviation, but also miss the best time of maintenance.
