Cleaning the fuel injectors is a common step in the maintenance of excavators, because the fuel injectors plays a vital role in the stable operation of the engine. If the fuel injectors is damaged, the engine will suffer from carbon deposition, wear, unstable idle speed and high fuel consumption. However, frequent cleaning or wrong cleaning methods will also have an adverse impact on the fuel injectors. This article will introduce the correct cleaning time and method for reference only.
1. Preparation
1) Before starting work, clean the place where the injectors holder is installed to avoid dust weather, so as to prevent impurities in the air and environment from entering the engine.
2) Remove the injectors holder. Remove all injectors holders and fuel injection pipes from the engine. Pay attention to protecting precision parts during disassembly.
3) Install the injectors holder on the injectors tester.
2. Measuring injectors
It should be noted that the fuel injection must not be touched directly. The fuel oil sprayed from the injectors can penetrate the skin and cause serious damage. If the fuel penetrates into the blood, it may cause poisoning.
1) Injection pressure
After installing the injectors holder on the fuel injection tester, press the handle of the tester several times to inject fuel. Then operate the tester at a speed of about 60 times per minute to measure the injection pressure. If adjustment is required, loosen the lock nut and adjust the adjusting screw. Rotating clockwise increases the pressure and counterclockwise decreases the pressure.
2) Injection distribution
In order to do this test, turn the knob of the pressure tester to bypass the pressure gauge, install the injectors holder on the injectors tester, and press the tester several times to check the fuel injection distribution. It should be noted that clean diesel oil must be used throughout the testing process.
3. Observe the injection state
1) No large spray should be visible to the naked eye, nor should there be a messy side spray.
2) In the initial injection stage, the injected particles should be fine and intermittent, and there should be no oil droplets.
3) The angle of spray distribution must be normal.
4. Adjustment method
Loosen the lock nut and adjust the adjusting screw to adjust the injection pressure. Rotate clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to reduce the pressure. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut again. Be careful to avoid precision parts during operation to avoid unnecessary loss.
