Fuel quality is very important to engine performance and service life. This article will summarize the storage and filling methods of inferior diesel oil and the daily maintenance of fuel oil system for reference only.
1. Fuel oil storage and filling measures
There are basically two modes of fuel storage for users:
1) Tanker or oil storage tank. This form should drain water regularly. When filling the excavator with fuel, the fuel should first pass through the filter element and then enter the fuel tank.
2) Oil drum storage. The storage of diesel oil is very important. During the storage of diesel oil, water and impurities are precipitated. The oil storage tank shall be designed with drainage and filtration. If oil drums are used to store fuel oil, the fuel oil shall be stored in static precipitation for more than 24 hours.
3) When refueling, use the pumping unit to pump the oil out of the oil barrel, and then let the fuel pass through the filter element before entering the oil tank. Do not pump out the oil in the oil barrel, but leave part in the barrel. Finally, collect the part left in each barrel into one barrel for sedimentation.
4) When pumping, the oil inlet pipe of the pumping equipment shall not be extended to the bottom of the oil barrel. Because the precipitated impurities and water are concentrated at the bottom.
2. Daily maintenance of excavator fuel system
1) Some tanks use a supply line that allows water and sediment to settle at the end of the supply line. Some fuel tanks use a supply line that takes oil directly from the bottom of the fuel tank. If the engine is equipped with this system, regular maintenance of the fuel system filter is very important.
2) The equipment shall drain water from the oil tank before starting the equipment every morning to avoid the water deposited at the bottom of the oil tank from entering the fuel pipeline at night. During the day, when the equipment is restarted after stopping operation for several hours, the oil tank shall also be drained for maintenance.
3) The oil tank needs to be filled up after the work every day, so that the air in the oil tank can be discharged. Prevent the water vapor in the air from condensing into water and entering the fuel system.
4) At the same time, the user shall discharge water from the oil-water separator on the equipment twice a day.
5) The drain time of the oil-water separator can be conducted at the same time as the drain time of the oil tank.
6) Please replace the filter element of diesel filter and oil-water separator according to the maintenance node. The pure filter element must be used.
