Changing the engine oil during the use of excavator is one of the necessary knowledge for operators. But many people don't pay attention to it. This article will summarize some knowledge about changing engine oil for reference only.
1. Why should the engine oil of excavator be changed on time?
The engine oil has a shelf life, and the longer it is stored, the performance will be gradually reduced, resulting in accelerated wear of mechanical wear parts. The physical and chemical properties and mechanical properties of engine oil will change after high temperature operation in the engine. When the engine runs for a long time, the impurities in the oil will increase, which will increase the wear speed of mechanical parts.
2. What are the serious consequences of not changing the oil on time?
Failure to change the oil on time will lead to the fault of low oil pressure. Low oil pressure will cause semi dry friction or dry friction between various mating parts, and the engine will have obvious abnormal noise. In serious cases, it will also cause Bush burning. Failure to change the oil on time will also lead to the problem of high oil pressure. High oil pressure will lead to premature damage of oil filter and carbon deposition in engine cylinder. It will also reduce the service life of the engine. The most serious consequence is the wear of various mechanical parts of the engine, such as piston and cylinder barrel. Once there is a problem with the piston and cylinder barrel, the excavator needs to be repaired.
3. How to change the oil correctly?
1) Remove the old filter element and add 2 / 3 of new engine oil to the filter element.
2) Apply a little oil on the oil seal of the new filter element and tighten the oil filter element by hand.
3) Tighten 1 / 2 or 3 / 4 turn with the filter element wrench. Open the oil filler at the top of the engine and fill the engine with new oil.
4) Start the engine, let the engine idle for 5 minutes, and check whether the engine oil pressure indicator is off. Then shut down the engine and wait for 15 minutes to observe whether the oil level of the vernier gauge is between the two scale lines. If there is any shortage, please continue to add.
5) Take out the oil dipstick and read the oil level. The oil level should be between the two scale lines. At the same time, carefully observe whether there is oil leakage / oil leakage at the interface between the new oil filter and the filter base. If so, deal with it immediately.
