In the cold winter, excavators in many areas are still working. The environmental temperature has certain influence on each part of excavator. Therefore, if the excavator is used improperly in this season, it will cause failures. 1. Select suitable diesel oil for excavator
First of all, we must change into suitable diesel oil in winter. Since the temperature is relatively low, the viscosity of diesel oil becomes large. The fluidity and atomization of diesel become poor, resulting in the decline of power and economic performance of diesel engine. It is better to choose diesel oil with a condensation point about 5 ℃ lower than the ambient temperature. This can ensure the normal use of the excavator when the temperature changes in winter. When replacing diesel, clean the fuel system.
(2) replacement and maintenance of engine oil
Secondly, special attention should be paid to the selection and replacement of engine oil. In winter, generally select engine oil with quality grade above CD level. In some alpine regions, it is necessary to consider replacing engine oil with higher grade in winter, such as 10W-30 engine oil. In some cold regions, special antifreeze engine oil is also used. When changing the engine oil, replace and clean the engine oil filter.

Pay special attention to the maintenance of the battery in winter. The battery shall be regularly tested, charged and the density of electrolyte shall be adjusted. Low temperature will reduce the capacity of the battery. When checking the electric level wiring of excavator battery, if there is green oxide, it should be treated and dried, and it is better to spray protective agent. In winter, take thermal measures for the power storage, or remove the battery and place it in a warm environment, and install the machine when it is used again. Another point to note is that when the battery electrolyte level is too low, distilled water should be added before the excavator works.
