Some excavators often lack water in the engine water tank. For example, the water inlet tank was newly added yesterday, but the alarm of low water level still appeared the next day, and the problem could not be found after inspection. If the water tank is short of water, the engine may be damaged due to high temperature. If the water tank is short of water for a long time, it indicates that the cooling system leaks and the cylinder gasket has a punch. The lack of water in the water tank will reduce the heat dissipation performance of the engine, and the deterioration of the lubricating quality of the parts will aggravate the wear. The piston ring will be stuck and the oil cylinder will be displaced eventually. When the low cooling water level alarm occurs in the water tank, it is recommended to check according to the following three points.
1. Lack of antifreeze
Some antifreeze in the engine will evaporate, resulting in a lack of antifreeze. The result is abnormally high engine temperature. The antifreeze shall be added to the center line of the auxiliary water tank.
2. Poor sealing of water tank cover
The water tank cover has two functions. When the water temperature rises, the volume of water in the water tank becomes larger, and the water pressure pushes open the spring and rubber strip of the water tank cover. The water from the main tank overflows into the small tank. This reduces the pressure of the main water tank to ensure that the cooling pipe and water tank will not explode. When the pressure of the main water tank decreases, the vacuum valve of the water tank cover will work. Make the water in the auxiliary water tank flow back to the main water tank to ensure that the water in the cooling system is always full and ensure the heat dissipation performance. If the sealing performance of the water tank cover becomes poor, it will lead to less water or water shortage.
3. The pipeline leaks
If the water tank and water pipe, engine water block and air heater pipe are damaged, it will directly lead to water leakage. It is worth noting that the engine water tank must be filled with regular antifreeze. The main function of antifreeze is to cool the engine. If the heat dissipation is not good, the oil viscosity will become worse. The internal components will be stuck or the internal cylinder will be deformed. This may cause damage to the engine.
In addition, in order to avoid excessive scale and impurities accumulated in the water tank, which will affect the normal heat dissipation of the equipment, it is also necessary to clean the excavator water tank regularly.
